Thanksgiving Traditions
Hello, Happy Tuesday and Happy Thanksgiving!
I cannot express in words how grateful I am for all of you. For your consistent engagement week after week, my sincerest thanks and heartfelt appreciation.
One of the Thanksgiving traditions in my business has been to re-post my very first blog, written in 2012, about Black Friday. I can’t believe that was five years ago, but hopefully the message still resonates: Enjoy the sales if you must, but be armed with a solid plan before handing over your credit cards. Please read if you intend to do any Black Friday shopping this year!
As for me, I will be spending most of the day after Thanksgiving hiking with my parents, who are visiting from Florida, and then curling up with a new book I just checked out from the library: The Awakened Woman by Tererai Trent.
It’s the story of an incredible woman who was raised in small village in Zimbabwe without an education and very few resources, but found a way to move to the United States, earn a Ph.D and become a world-changing humanitarian and educator.
I can’t think of a better way to spend the day after Thanksgiving – enjoying the company of family and being inspired by a person who came from so little and is impacting the world so positively. Much more satisfying – and cheaper!– than any bargain I could find at the local malls!
I think this may be the start of a wonderful, new Thanksgiving tradition…
Have a great holiday everyone, and from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
